The purpose of this class is to introduce law enforcement officers to crowd control methods.
Full Description
The purpose of this FREE class is to introduce law enforcement officers to crowd control methods. Officers will learn about civil disturbances and key protest that have drawn media attention along with what law enforcement lessons can be taken away from each protest. This class will introduce law enforcement to protest groups that are recognized nationally, as well as, specific to Arkansas. Common tactics used by protest groups will be explained. Students will become familiar with riot control agents and equipment. The concept of mass arrest will be developed. Law enforcement officers will understand the team tactics involved in controlling a crowd control issue.

If attendees have the resources, please bring any equipment that your department may deploy for crowd control:
CS Gas
Smoke
Launchers such as 40mm or anything of that nature.

*The Department of Public Safety will not provide the munitions for the class, or certify anyone to carry or deploy Less Lethal munitions. The course will familiarize the participants with the effects of the gas and the effect it has on them in an operational environment.*
