O.C. SPRAY INFORMATION

Basic Students are NOT REQUIRED to participate in OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) Pepper Spray training. IT is now offered as an elective course.

The ADLEST OC Pepper Spray ELECTIVE course requires the student to be exposed to OC Pepper Spray and its effects in a simulated confrontational situation. After the student is exposed, they will be required to carry out suspect control and officer survival actions. The primary focus of the course is officer survival training and conditioning; therefore, previous exposure to OC Pepper Spray will not be recognized as an approved excuse for exemption from exposure training.
